Jenny Peterson
Executive Leadership Coach
Emotional Intelligence Specialist
Resilience Practitioner
BACKGROUND
Life is never a straight line and Jenny has experienced this first hand. As a high school senior, she broke her neck in a downhill skiing accident, becoming quadriplegic. For Jenny, this took her on what would become a familiar path of challenge, belief, preparation, action and achievement. Leaders have an inner voice and desire to do more; be more; contribute more. Jenny doesn’t know your path, yet has the experience and approach to help you find your way especially when the road gets bumpy.
Jenny has been on this path time and again. It has led her to complete a master’s degree in Leadership; become the world record holder in Archery at the Paralympic level; become the first recipient of a service dog in Minnesota and get access laws passed for service dogs; become executive director of Helping Paws of Minnesota furthering services to people with disabilities; become a certified executive coach; climb the pyramids of Mexico; compete in a three-day adventure race through the Colorado Rockies (biking, hiking, white water rafting, repelling and orienteering); build a wheelchair accessible cabin in the deep north woods of Minnesota; attain a PhD in Organizational Psychology studying the relationship between emotional intelligence and compassion fatigue in physicians; write a book, The Joy Journal utilizing neuroscience, positive psychology, mindfulness and art expression to help people find small moments of joy every day; become a certified facilitator of Dr. Brené Brown’s work including Dare to Lead™, Daring Greatly™ and Rising Strong™; and bike across the United States (virtually on an electric stimulus bike) during Covid; and currently, compete against able bodied individuals in an accessible carriage with her horse, Joy, in equestrian competitions.
APPROACH + PHILOSOPHY
Tenacity, purpose with a dash of sass best describes how Jenny shows up. She is a mission driven executive coach, facilitator, and author who empowers others to live life on purpose. She creates safe, supportive, and challenging relationships where participants can explore and find their individual way to success and wellbeing. She helps people unpack the “stuff” that no longer serves them, and challenges them to create a new, intentional life so that they can live into their biggest boldest selves.
Jenny’s facilitation and coaching combines emotional intelligence, heart work, resilience and mindfulness to help people become aware of what is preventing them from leading the life they desire, and to move forward with courage, compassion and vulnerability. For more than sixteen years, she’s coached leaders and teams to engage with purpose and meaning, and worked with individuals to break through the outside noise to find their own, unique path.
